Thank you very much friends for all the gifts and intercessions received by MOKICCO in the month of February. It was great to see how well it worked for the children at home and at school. There have been some fevers, colds and minor concerns, but overall everything went well.
As I wrote in previous letters, the goal of MOKICCO now is to take care of the children who are already in MOKICCO, but in urgent situations we must try to help. In the month of February we had to help two girls, Azra Shoo, 9 years old, and Highlight, 3 years old. Their mother is disabled. She only has one arm. She cannot help the two children and the father of the children is unknown. The grandmother who took care of the two children is now ill after a stroke, so the village chief asked MOKICCO to take care of the children.
One of the great blessings of the month of February was that Joseph Shao, one of the MOKICCO youth, obtained his driver’s license. He writes as follows:
My name is Joseph Shao. I thank God for making it possible for me to get a B driver’s license through Mokicco. This license will really make me successful in my pursuits. I want to take a course on mobile cranes and harbor cranes, but I was told that I cannot take it without a driver’s license. Now I have a B driving license! Thank God I can go to college. Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support.
On the last Sunday of February we celebrated a neighborhood service together with all the foster parents. It was my last shift before flying to Sweden on March 15, 2024. Everyone had many positive things to say about the children’s development and hopes for the future. A future challenge for the young people was that school fees after high school have become quite high. But new opportunities are emerging, for example with student fees, which many have the opportunity to do. Another challenge is youth unemployment. Pray for the young people that they will get a job or the opportunity to start their own business.
