MOKICCO (Mount Kilimanjaro Children Care Organization) is a NGO that aims to help orphans and children from very difficult circumstances, primairily in Tanzania. By placing them in families, where they get help to go to school, get food, get dressed and get health care and Christian education. In this way, these family houses become a home for these children for life. In these houses no more than 10 children are allowed to live so that they have the feeling of being a family and not an institution. Each parental home has one or two parents.
Today MOKICCO has such family homes in the following places: Mbwera, Uganda, Geita (three houses), Kahama, Mtu wa Mbu, Wasso, Kwa Pole (Arusha), Karangai, Mbaseni, Kibosho, Maili sita, Mwangaria (two houses), Marangu , Komakundi, Mamba, Mwika, Kilosa and Athi River.
