This colorful event on Whit Monday has been established in collaboration with Museum Volkenkunde since 2015.
After a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19, it will be hosted for the 6th time this year.
The World Fair is an excellent cultural and festive outing for young and old!
We are there for the 2nd time with a stall at the Museum of Ethnology in Leiden. The global event that revolves around fair trade, handmade from afar and flavors from all over the world. But also Dutch initiatives that have a special connection with non-Western countries and cultures can be found there.
A colorful combination is made between a cosmopolitan market, food stalls, activities and performances – always a fun day out for the whole family.
From street food from South Africa, home accessories from Morocco and fabrics from Mexico to Nepalese scarves, handmade jewelry from Indonesia and Canadian maple syrup. And of course our beautiful stuff from Tanzania and India.
In short, a trip around the world in 1 day!
Museum Volkenkunde provides the program during the World Fair. There are various music and dance performances and demonstrations, you can (for a fee) participate in workshops for young and old. The full program will soon be published on www.volkenkunde.nl
