In Tanzania we work together with local partners. In this way we ensure that our projects and initiatives continue, even when we are not present.
In addition to having these partners, there are also friends of Yourright Foundation who contribute to our foundation in their own way.
KITUO CHA BABA ORESTE
The daycare center Baba Oreste was opened in 2008 with the aim of helping children in the Bunju’s area. In particular the Day Centre approaches handicapped children and the children who don’t go to school for different causus. The Day Care Centre “Baba Oreste” welcomes vulnerable children belonging to any race, tribe or relegion.
The children who attend the Day Care Centre are involved in educative en recreational activities in order to improve their pesonal and social development. The activities will suit the children so that they can develop their owm skills and abilities.
They even support the families where the children live: the parents, in particular the mothers, can go to work sure that their children are looked after in a serene and welcoming place. Moreover the parents are invited to take part to periodical meetings when they will be informed about the activities carried out an about other issues related to the children’s development.
Maurizio and Esther Robino are responsible for the daily course of affairs. With a number of permanent employees and volunteers, they care for around 50 children.
YOUNG LIFE TANZANIA
We take care of children by meeting them where they are, the way they are and believing in who they can be. We call this “contact work”. Young people in Africa face challenges: to get an education, find a job, help their families. They live with political instability and corruption, limited resources, drought, diseases and famine, drugs and alcohol. They ask the same questions to teenagers around the world: who am I? Do I matter?
The leaders of Young Life say they are loved and have a purpose.
