Easter Greetings from MOKICCO
But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. You spread your protection over them,
and those who love Your name may rejoice in You. (Psalm 5:12)
I wish you all a Happy Easter.
Thank you so much for the support and prayers you have given to MOKICCO. God is good.
MOKICCO is doing well. The children are healthy, they go to school, and some are working.
Many good things have happened at MOKICCO this year. In January, we were visited by Marion Dekoning,
a friend of MOKICCO. She leads an organization called “All for Better Future.”
She helped the Mkolowony Primary School in our village Marangu to build a clean water system,
provided school lunches for children at Kituri Primary School, supported children’s activities in Marangu Mtoni,
and our day program in Marangu.
One of Carl-Erik Sahlberg’s friends, Christer Tiwestan, who passed away in 2024,
left 5% of his assets to MOKICCO in his will. I don’t know the exact amount yet, and it might take time before
the funds become available as it involves real estate that must first be sold.
We thank God for this great gift that will be a huge boost for MOKICCO, especially for the vocational school.
In April, Joycelin Ntobi, the leader of MOKICCO in Tanzania, gathered the youth who are studying at the vocational school
with support from Sweden, and those already working, to discuss how they can support MOKICCO,
especially financially.
In March, one of Carl-Erik’s friends, Mattias Wigardt, who was tasked with organizing the Swedish side of MOKICCO,
formed a support group for the work in Tanzania. This group supports MOKICCO with responsibility
for the education of children in family homes and provides funding for education at all levels,
and for other branches of work such as support for poor women, deaf and mute children,
people with disabilities, day centers, and the vocational school.
The group includes an active leader, a coordinator for gifts and fundraising,
a representative on the S:ta Klara board, a representative from the mission group of S:ta Klara,
a communications officer for the church, a newsletter helper, and two advisors.
Let us pray for the support group to follow God’s guidance together in this work.
When morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize it was Him.
Jesus called out, “Children, have you caught any fish?” They answered, “No.”
He said, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”
So they cast it, and they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish. (John 21:4-5)
What a dawn! To stand before Christ is to live in such a dawn.
To experience such a dawn, we must also see the risen Christ on the shore.
Happy Easter
To you all.
Overa Seka Sahlberg
